About Us

Jim and Pete were raised on a large ranch in Santa Barbara California. Firearms were always present from an early age. The love of rifles and shotguns has lasted a life time for both of them.

Jim is a nationally known gunsmith among competitive shotgun shooters. He has worked as a gunsmith since the late 1960's. He has also worked as the armorer for several police and Sheriff departments. Jim is a full time gunsmith working out of his shop in Santa Ynez, California and traveling to work at major shotgun competitions.

The gun springs we offer are a result of Jim's quest to improve the quality, function, and longevity of factory gun springs. Jim is the research and development man at J&P Custom Products. His personal knowledge and his vast network of top gun industry associates allow us to offer the finest products available. He has painstakingly developed, tested, and brought to production over 40 different gun springs that are not simply copies of factory gun springs, but gun springs that are improved to address problems with factory gun springs. He is currently working on a number of new gun springs and other gun parts.

Jim is an avid precision hand loader, bench shooter and varmint hunter. He has his own range for testing our rifle and shotgun springs.

Pete is the administrative end of J&P Custom Products LLC. Pete has always been a firearms enthusiast and was an "A" Class I.P.S.C. shooter in the 1980's at South West Pistol League. He has competed in both the Steel Challenge and the Bianchi Cup. Pete is an avid varmint hunter especially interested in small caliber center fire rifles and high grade rimfire rifles.

We formed J&P Custom Products LLC to offer the best products and service we can produce. We will not compromise on quality, and we will not market a product until we are satisfied that it is the best available. All of our products are produced in the United States of America by a group of people we feel are the most skilled craftsmen in their fields. We have a lot of ideas and new products in development. If you have something you have been looking for, drop us an e-mail and we will look into producing it.
